Avatr, the premium EV brand jointly developed by Changan, CATL, and Huawei, has officially launched its fourth production model—the Avatr 06 midsize sedan. With an introductory price starting at 191,900 yuan (approximately 26,300 USD), the vehicle offers both BEV and extended-range electric (EREV) variants, marking Avatr’s strategic entry into the competitive 200,000-yuan segment.

Powertrain and Battery Specifications

The pure electric Avatr 06 features CATL-sourced lithium-iron-phosphate battery technology, with 72.88 kWh capacity. The single-motor rear-wheel drive variant delivers 252 kW of power and achieves 650 km of CLTC-rated range, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive version adds a 188 kW front motor for a combined 440 kW output, with a range slightly reduced to 600 km. Both configurations benefit from 800V ultra-fast charging architecture.

The EREV model combines a 231 kW electric motor with a 115 kW 1.5-litre turbocharged range extender for drivers seeking extended range capability. Its 31.7 kWh battery provides 170 km of pure electric driving before the gasoline engine activates.

Dimensions and Exterior Design

The Avatr 06 measures 4,855 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,450 mm in height with a 2,940 mm wheelbase. It adopts the brand’s 2.0 design language. Buyers can choose from six exterior colors, while the sleek profile incorporates distinctive elements like optional electronic side mirrors with 6.7-inch display screens and flush-mounted door handles.

Interior and Technology

The Avatr 06 introduces a “mobile wellness sanctuary” concept, featuring a cabin wrapped in 7 square meters of premium soft-touch materials. Buyers can opt for a red interior colour scheme. The front seats incorporate zero-gravity technology with 16-point massage functionality, while a state-of-the-art 25-speaker Meridian audio system delivers 7.1.4 surround sound with a 2,016-watt output. It has the latest HarmonyOS infotainment system. The cabin also incorporates smart-powered doors with obstacle detection and a streaming digital rearview mirror as standard equipment.

The vehicle’s advanced driver assistance systems include 192-line Lidar and 27 perception devices, all powered by Huawei’s ADS 3.0 autonomous driving platform.

As Avatr prepares for a potential 2026 Hong Kong IPO, the 06 represents a crucial volume model for the brand. Its competitive pricing, dual powertrain options, and Huawei’s advanced autonomous driving technology position it as a strong contender against established players like the Tesla Model 3 and Zeekr 007.
