2026 Chery Tiggo 7 Sport channels Land Rover design, launches with Tiggo 7 Plus from 12,250 USD
Chery has officially released the 2026 Tiggo 7 Sport and Tiggo 7 Plus SUVs in China, targeting budget-conscious buyers with upgraded features and competitive pricing. The new Tiggo 7 Sport starts at 87,900 yuan (approx. 12,250 USD), while the Tiggo 7 Plus is priced at 91,900 yuan (approx. 12,800 USD).

The Tiggo 7 Sport introduces a new 1.5-litre turbocharged engine variant delivering 115 kW and 230 Nm, mated to a 6-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. It joins the 1.6T version that produces 145 kW and 290 Nm with a 7-speed DCT. Chery positions the Sport edition as a more dynamic, youth-oriented alternative to the family-friendly Tiggo 7 Plus.

Design-wise, the Tiggo 7 Sport maintains the brand’s split headlight setup, trapezoidal mesh grille, floating roof, and concealed door handles. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and is available in Glacier Silver, Cangyan Grey, Graphite Black, and Pearl White.

The Tiggo 7 Sport features a 13.2-inch central infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Newly added features include driver’s seat ventilation and heating, front passenger seat heating, vanity mirror lights, a 540-degree panoramic camera system, and automatic climate control.

The higher-spec premium trim of the Tiggo 7 Sport adds more advanced equipment such as automatic high-beam control, panoramic sunroof with electric shade, ventilated front passenger seat, dashcam, 50W wireless phone charging, curtain airbags, powered tailgate with motion sensor, full-range adaptive cruise control (ACC), automatic emergency braking (AEB), and forward collision warning (FCW).

The Tiggo 7 Plus, meanwhile, continues with the 1.5T engine and a CVT transmission simulating nine gears. Its exterior retains Chery’s diamond-pattern grille, flush door handles, and a full-width LED tail light design.

Key features include a 24.6-inch dual-screen cockpit, LION 5.0 infotainment system, and a choice of black or brown interior colour schemes. The top-spec trim adds powered and ventilated passenger seating, an electric tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, and side curtain airbags.

Both models are competitively positioned in China’s compact SUV segment. In May, the Tiggo 7 series sold 3,880 units, placing it 40th among compact SUVs in the Chinese market.
