The Xiaomi YU7 Ultra performance SUV was reportedly seen in China during road tests. It was recognized by wide wheel arches, rims, and other exterior details. Previously, Xiaomi shared no plans about launching the high-performance variant of their recently launched crossover.

The first car from Xiaomi Auto – the SU7 sedan – entered the Chinese market on March 28, 2024. Its 4WD variant boasted a peak power of 495 kW (664 hp). Ten months later, Xiaomi Auto launched the high-performance variant of this electric sedan named SU7 Ultra. This BEV has three electric motors sending 1,138 kW (1,526 hp) to the wheels.

On June 26, Xiaomi Auto launched its first SUV called YU7. Fresh spy shots leaked online hint that the young automaker is also working on the performance variant of this car. It will possibly launch in 2026 under the YU7 Ultra name.

The Xiaomi YU7, covered with camouflage, was captured by a Chinese car enthusiast who shared two photos online. The author highlighted that the spotted car has unusually wide wheel arches and increased rear and front tracks. This SUV also adopts 21-inch wheels and large ceramic brake discs, similar to the SU7 Ultra. Another feature of the spotted vehicle is a smoked taillight unit.

These exterior elements hint that the spotted vehicle is a high-performance variant of the YU7 crossover.  It will likely adopt three electric motors, with the e-motor in the front axle generating 288 kW (286 hp) and two electric motors in the rear for 425 kW (570 hp). The combined power output of the system reaches 1,138 kW (1,526 hp). The peak torque is 1,770 Nm. It will also have a CATL-made Qilin 2.0 ternary NMC battery for 93.7 kWh.

Previously, there was a report about the Xiaomi YU7 brakes catching fire on the track. The high-performance variant of this SUV will boast 430-mm carbon ceramic brake discs in the front and slightly smaller 410-mm brakes in the rear. They can reportedly operate at temperatures reaching 1300 °C (2372°F).

Some car designers came up with fan render images of the YU7 Ultra SUV. However, Xiaomi Auto officials haven’t confirmed information about the development of such a car yet.
