The Geely Galaxy M9 full-size plug-in hybrid SUV was spotted at dealers in China ahead of the sales start. This large family driver boasting AWD for 520 kW (697 hp) will enter the domestic market with a starting price of 250,000 yuan (34,650 USD). Later, the Galaxy M9 will enter overseas markets, including Europe.
Geely Galaxy is a new energy brand under Geely Automobile, founded in 2023. Its current model line comprises ten cars, with the Geely Xingyuan hatchback being the bestselling car in China for the first seven months of 2025. Outside China, Geely Galaxy vehicles are being sold under the Geely brand without ties to the Galaxy series. For example, the Geely Galaxy E5 SUV sells as the Geely EX5 in overseas markets. And the Geely Galaxy Starship 7 is better known overseas as the Geely Starray EM-i.
Soon, Geely Galaxy will kick off domestic sales of its flagship model. It is the Geely Galaxy M9 full-size SUV. This model started piling up at dealers ahead of the official release.
Geely Galaxy M9 at dealers
The Geely Galaxy M9 started arriving at the brand’s stores across China for static displays and test drives. It is worth mentioning that these cars aren’t intended to be sold. Galaxy M9 crossovers that arrived at Chinese dealers are top-trim level cars with 21-inch wheels. Other signature exterior elements of this SUV include a “Brilliant Galaxy” LED strip that joins headlamps and a single taillight unit. Conventional door handles and a LiDAR sensor on the roof.
The Geely Galaxy M9 interior adopts six seats with a 2+2+2 layout. Each seat of the car boasts power adjustment and heating functions, while the first-row and second-row seats adopt ventilation and massage functions. The front passenger seat offers a power leg rest and a zero-gravity mode. The second-row seats of the M9 also offer zero-gravity mode with leg rests as an extra option.
The center console of the new car offers a large 30-inch 6K touchscreen that can be used by the driver and the front passenger simultaneously. A 12.66-inch thin LCD instrument cluster hides behind a three-spoke steering wheel. The center tunnel of the M9 has two wireless charging pads, a block of physical buttons, and hidden cup holders.
The top-trim Geely Galaxy M9 has a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted screen for the rear passengers. The second-row right passenger also has a folding table. Another fine feature of the car is a spacious 9.1-liter refrigerator. Finally, the Galaxy M9 boasts a Flyme Sound system with 27 speakers.

The Geely Galaxy M9 is a full-size vehicle with dimensions of 5205/1999/1800 mm and a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. For clarity, it is 4 mm shorter than the Mercedes-Benz GLS. Geely said that the M9 has the best-in-class in-cabin space utilization rate of 88.3%.
The Geely Galaxy M9 features the EM-P plug-in hybrid system, which is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 120 kW (161 hp) and three electric motors. The front e-motor has a peak power output of 180 kW (241 hp) while two rear electric motors offer 170 kW (228 hp) each. The combined power output of the system is 520 kW (697 hp). The Geely Galaxy M9 speeds up from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
There are two battery options available: an 18.4 kWh pack for 85 km, and a 41.5 kWh battery for 185 km. The Galaxy M9’s fuel consumption rate with a drained battery is 4.8 liters per 100 km. This vehicle also adopts dual-chamber air suspension paired with a continuous damping control system (CDC).
It was previously revealed that the Geely Galaxy M9 will start at around 250,000 yuan (34,650 USD) in China. This model will become a cheaper alternative to the Lynk & Co 900 and the Zeekr 9X from the same automaker. Geely Automobile aims to cover a wide price range of 250,000 – 1,000,000 yuan (34,650 – 139,400 USD) with its three full-size crossovers, building a strong presence in the market.
