Chery’s iCar Super V23 EV with Guinness World Record title launched from 17,300 USD
Chery officially launched its iCar Super V23, offered in five trims with prices ranging from 122,800 to 174,800 yuan (17,300 to 24,600 USD). As a new addition to the iCar V23 series, the new model remains a pure electric compact SUV with more powerful electric motors and a maximum cruising range of 550 km.
It’s worth pointing out that the iCar Super V23 holds a Guinness World Record for the fastest ascent on a 400-meter-plus sand dune for mass-produced EVs, using just 2:38.34 minutes.
Consumers can choose from nine exterior paints, including purple, yellow, orange, silver, white, black, gray, blue, and green.
Outside, the appearance continues the retro square box shape as the standard iCar V23, but adds an exclusive red “S” logos on the body, such as on the front grille, front fenders, and the lower left corner of the tailgate.
Semi-hidden door handles and 21-inch five-spoke rims with 265/45 R21 tires are present. The body dimensions also remain unchanged: 4220/1915/1845 mm (l/w/h), with a 2735 mm wheelbase. The curb weight ranges from 1,735 kg to 1,960 kg.
The approach angle is 42°/43° and the departure angle is 40°/41°, depending on the trim.
The maximum wading depth is 600 mm.
The iCar Super V23 is available in two powertrain versions: RWD and AWD, with a top speed of 170 km/h.
- RWD: a 185 kW/300 Nm electric motor, 59.93 kWh and 80.16 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs from CATL, 401 km and 550 km CLTC ranges
- AWD: an additional 150 kW/190 Nm front motor for a system power of 335 kW (449 hp) and torque of 490 Nm, 4.5 seconds of 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time, 80.16 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, 501 km CLTC range
Inside, the interior retains the 8.88-inch LCD instrument panel and 15.4-inch 2.5K central control screen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. All trims support CarPlay, HiCar, and CarLink mobile phone connectivity.
At the same time, details such as a red ring, red “S” logo, and Boost button on the steering wheel to increase the power output are present to differentiate from the standard iCar V23.
Furthermore, 22 sensors (12 ultrasonic radars, 5 millimeter-wave radars, and 5 cameras) are located throughout the vehicle to support the onboard Falcon 500 advanced driving assistance system to realize more than 23 capabilities.
