The second AUDI model from the German automaker and SAIC Group was seen in China during road tests. It is an SUV with hidden door handles and a Face-ID camera in the B-pillar. The AUDI crossover will enter China in 2026, following the previously launched E5 Sportback.
AUDI is a joint brand between Audi and SAIC, revealed in November 2024. In contrast with an original German brand, the new AUDI doesn’t use the classic four-ring badge. Its model line will comprise electric cars mostly developed by a Chinese team for China. The brand’s first model, the AUDI E5 Sportback, was launched in China on September 16, boasting a peak power of 776 hp and a starting price of 235,900 yuan (33,130 USD).
Previously, AUDI representatives revealed plans to launch three models by 2027. The brand’s second car was set to launch domestically in 2026. This model was first spotted in China during road tests in July. Recently, this SUV was seen once again.
AUDI crossover seen in China
The recently spotted AUDI crossover is noticeably different from the car we saw in July. It adopts conventional side-view mirrors and eight-spoke chrome-plated rims. Its other features include retractable door handles, a charging port in the left rear fender, and a roof spoiler. There are blind spot monitoring cameras in front fenders. It also has a through-type taillight assembly with vertical elements at both ends.

The AUDI crossover has a sleek roofline and blackened pillars. Its B-pillar integrates a Face-ID camera. It helps the car to recognize the owner and unlock doors. Chinese blogger Caoan Tongxue, who shared a spy shot, shared that the approximate length of the car is five meters. The new SUV stands on the Advanced Digitized Platform (ADP). It supports an 800V high-voltage system. Chinese designer Sugar Design prepared an unofficial render image of this model.

The first AUDI electric crossover’s powertrain is unknown. However, it will most likely adopt the same configuration as the E5 Sportback. The latter has a power output of 220 – 579 kW (295 – 776 hp), depending on the drive type.
