JD.com, the Amazon of China, is launching a new car in collaboration with CATL and GAC
E-commerce giant JD.com announced today a collaboration with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) subsidiary Era Electric Service and GAC Group to launch a new “National Good Car.” The vehicle is slated for an official release during JD.com’s 11.11 shopping festival and will be exclusively sold on the JD.com platform.
According to Chinese media outlet Yicai, this vehicle will be the battery-swappable version of GAC Aion UT.
This project adopts CATL’s battery and its “chocolate” battery swap ecosystem. GAC Group is in charge of manufacturing, while JD.com provide user insights as well as online and offline automotive consumption and service resources.

The vehicle will be exclusively available for purchase during the 11.11 festival via the newly launched “CATL Chocolate JD.com Official Flagship Store” on the e-commerce platform.
To foster deeper user engagement and co-creation, consumers are invited to search for “National Good Car” on the JD.com app and participate in an interactive activity.
Customers will have the option to choose a standard version of the car or flexibly select various packages that include custom car wraps, accessory installations, and maintenance services.

The Aion UT is GAC Aion’s third global model. On February 28 this year, GAC officially launched the Aion UT, offered in five trims in CLTC cruising ranges of 330 km and 420 km, with a price range of 69,800 – 101,800 yuan (9,600 – 14,000 USD).
