GAC today officially launched the Hyptec GT Lite Edition, introducing two new models with a starting price range of 153,800 to 158,800 yuan (21,500 to 22,200 USD). The new variants offer two CLTC pure electric range options: 560 kilometres and 630 kilometres.

The Hyptec GT, positioned as a pure electric mid-to-large-sized coupe, is built on the dedicated electric platform AEP3.0. The Lite Edition maintains the exterior design of the current model, featuring a closed-off front fascia and futuristic headlights. The lower bumper incorporates an electrically operated air vent that can open and close at certain speeds, reducing drag at high speeds and enhancing heat dissipation at lower speeds.

Standard features on the Hyptec GT Lite Edition include the ASTC “Eagle Claw” system and CST smooth and comfortable braking technology, ensuring superior cornering stability and performance. The 630 Lite Edition further enhances braking capabilities with front four-piston fixed callipers. The vehicles equipped with frameless doors are a popular feature among younger buyers. The rear design is full and sculpted, opting for distinctive split taillights rather than the popular through-type design.

Powering the Hyptec GT Lite Edition is a single motor, delivering a maximum power of 180 kW (241 hp) and a peak torque of 355N·m. The CLTC pure electric range options are 560km and 630km.

Hyptec is a new energy brand rebranded from GAC Aion Hyper. According to the official introduction, HYPTEC consists of “HYP” and “TEC”. The former is derived from Hyper and HyperCar, representing extreme, extraordinary, and top-notch; the latter is derived from Technology, representing science, technology, and craftsmanship.
