On January 12, BYD teased its upcoming D-segment flagship Tang 9 full-size SUV and Han 9 executive sedan, aiming to “break through the 200,000 to 300,000 yuan (28,700 to 43,000 USD) market segment” and enter the entry-level segment of the broader luxury vehicle market. The official unveil is scheduled for the first half of this year.

BYD is currently crowdsourcing names for both models. The official launch dates have not yet been announced at this time.

In terms of technical specifications, both models will offer BEV and PHEV variants, featuring an 800V high-voltage architecture, reported by Chinese news outlet Autohome.

According to official information, both two flagship models will not only be larger in size, and will also be equipped with BYD’s latest and most advanced complete set of technologies.

The teaser images showed a roof lidar on both models, indicating high-end advanced driving assistance system.
