The Lotus Eletre X plug-in hybrid crossover with 420 km of EV range and 700 kW (939 hp) power started presales in China for 528,000 yuan (76,400 USD). Its domestic name is Lotus For Me. This vehicle will start deliveries in Europe under the Eletre X name in Q4 this year.

The Lotus Eletre X is a PHEV counterpart of the BEV Eletre launched in 2022. It was first exposed in China in December 2025 under the For Me name. The Lotus plant in Wuhan is responsible for the volume production of this SUV. It was later confirmed that the brand’s first PHEV model will sell in China under the For Me name. However, it will be sold globally as the Eletre X. On March 10, this model became available for presales in China.

More about the Lotus Eletre X

The Lotus Eletre X stays in line with its BEV sibling in terms of styling. The car boasts retractable LiDAR sensors integrated into the roof and front fenders, optional cameras instead of side-view mirrors, and various aerodynamic elements. The Eletre X has downforce of 110 kg on the front part and 80 kg on the rear. The Eletre X offers two unique body colors: orange and yellow.

Dimensions of this PHEV crossover are 5103/2019/1636 mm with a wheelbase of 3,019 mm. The car’s curb weight is 2,575 kg. The gross weight is 3,055 kg. What is more, the ELetre X can tow up to 2,250 kg. Another fine feature of the car is a trunk for 688 liters. Its volume reaches 1,532 liters with rear seats folded.

The Lotus Eletre X adopts two cabin layouts for five and four seats. The latter configuration boasts two independent captain chairs with a large center tunnel between them. The second-row seats’ backrests could be automatically adjusted. Other highlights of the interior include 23 KEF-branded speakers for 2,160 W and an automatically dimmed panoramic sunroof.

The center console of the Eletre X adopts a thin 12.6-inch LCD instrument cluster, a narrow touchscreen for the front passenger, and a large 15.1-inch floating main display. The car also offers a head-up display and an additional screen for rear passengers. Another feature of the Lotus Eletre X is the G-Pilot H7 assisted driving system developed by Afari Technology (ex Lifan Technology). It comprises an Nvidia Thor processor with a peak computing power of 700 TOPS.

Powertrain and prices

The Lotus Eletre X adopts the X-Hybrid platform with a 900V high-voltage system. The car has a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine delivering 205 kW (275 hp) paired with two electric motors. The car’s peak power output is 700 kW (939 hp). Such a combination allows the China-spec Eletre X to speed up to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. This large SUV reaches 200 km/h in 10.5 seconds, and completes the quarter-mile (402 meters) in 11.16 seconds.

Lotus officials said it can generate up to 150 kW of power and provides 25kWh of energy per hour during highway cruising. The new SUV can accelerate to 100 km/h with 10% battery charge in 3.5 seconds, as the system still provides around 550 kW (737 hp) of power. The Eletre X offers six-piston Brembo brake calipers and Pirelli P Zero 5 LTS tires.

The Lotus Eletre X features a ternary NMC battery for 70 kWh produced by the CATLGeely joint venture. Its weight reaches 408 kg. The car’s CLTC range in electric mode lies between 345 and 355 km, depending on the wheel size and other equipment. In PHEV mode, the Lotus For Me consumes 0.06 – 0.07 liters per 100 km under WLTC conditions. With a drained battery, its fuel consumption increases to 5.98 – 6.10 liters per 100 km. Thanks to a 52-liter fuel tank, the Eletre X can run up to 1,400 km in mixed mode.
