New Audi A6L started sales in China with V6-powered HEV system for 386 hp
The new Audi A6L started sales in China at 322,900 yuan (46,790 USD). Its top-trim level offers a 3-liter V6 for 270 kW (362 hp) paired with an 18-kW (24 hp) electric motor. This sedan aims to improve Audi’s sales performance in the highly competitive Chinese market.
The Audi A6L commenced presales in China on March 10. We highlighted in one of our previous texts that this FAW-Audi-manufactured vehicle became significantly cheaper than its predecessor. At the same time, the new model adopts a number of upgrades.
More about the new Audi A6L
The new Audi A6L stands on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) modular architecture that underpins the China-made Audi Q5L launched in January 2026. The new sedan was stretched by 139 mm for the domestic market. Its wheelbase grew by 143 mm. Exact dimensions of the Audi A6L are 5142/1887/1464 mm.
The car’s exterior styling adopts a large grille, an aggressive front bumper, two-storey taillights, semi-hidden door handles, and 21-inch rims. Other highlights of the new A6L include two optional LiDAR sensors, six mm-wave radars, six cameras, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. The car could be equipped with the Sport exterior package. Five exterior colors are available: Mythos Black, Jasmine White, Mandalore Silver, Black Champagne, and Deep Ocean.
The interior of the new Audi A6L aligns with the brand’s signature design language. It has three screens in the center console: a 14.5-inch center monitor, an 11.9-inch LCD instrument cluster, and a 10.9-inch display for the front passenger. Other highlights of the car’s cabin include a 13.1-inch head-up display and two wireless phone charging pads. The sedan’s Sport Package adds a D-shaped steering wheel.
The top-trim Audi A6L features Nappa leather seats, 18-way power adjustment for the front seats, and a 35-degree-adjustable rear backrest. The vehicle comes standard with the Bang & Olufsen acoustic system for 16 speakers. Moreover, customers can upgrade to 20 speakers. The car adopts the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function.
Audi A6L powertrain and prices
The new Audi A6L is available with four powertrain variants. The entry-level car adopts a 2-liter ICE for 150 kW (201 hp), complemented by a 48V starter-generator. This system is paired with a 7DCT, sending torque to the front axle. The car speeds up to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and consumes 7 liters of fuel per 100 km under WLTC conditions.
The second powertrain adopts the same mild hybrid system. However, the engine’s power output was boosted to 200 kW (268 hp). As a result, its zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 7.2 seconds while the fuel consumption is 7.2 liters per 100 km.
The third Audi A6L variant offers 4WD and a traditional hybrid system that couldn’t be charged externally. It has a 2-liter engine for 200 kW and an electric motor for 18 kW (24 hp). This e-motor sits between the ICE and a 7DCT transmission. The third version of the A6L speeds up to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, due to reduced turbo lag. It consumes 6.6 liters of fuel per 100 km.
The top-trim A6L boasts a 3-liter V6 for 270 kW (362 hp), complemented by the same 18 kW electric motor. This modification’s zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 4.6 seconds.
