Lotus Eletre X plug-in hybrid SUV launched in China for 73,500 USD
The Lotus Eletre X plug-in hybrid SUV was launched in China under the Lotus For Me name. Priced at 508,000 yuan (73,500 USD), it boasts a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 3.3 seconds and a 70 kWh battery for 420 km of CLTC range. The first Lotus-branded PHEV starts deliveries on March 30.
In early March, Lotus kicked off presales of its first plug-in hybrid SUV called For Me. It was confirmed that this unusual name will be used in the Chinese market only. This crossover will sell overseas as the Eletre X with a global launch scheduled for June 2026. We are using the global name of this vehicle in the text.
Lotus Eletre X domestic launch
The Wuhan-made Lotus Eletre X entered the Chinese market with two trim levels. The entry-level trim is called Standard. It is priced at 508,000 yuan (73,500 USD). It comes standard with a 2-liter turbocharged engine and two e-motors with a combined power output of 700 kW (939 hp). A ternary NMC battery pack for 70 kWh powers this system, providing 420 km of electric range under CLTC conditions.
The Lotus Eletre X Standard rides on 21-inch wheels and boasts dual-chamber air suspension. The car also features an L2-assisted driving system with a 128-line LiDAR and an Nvidia Drive Thor-U chip with 700 TOPS of computing power. Inside, it has five seats, a large panoramic roof, three screens, and 23 KEF-branded speakers. The front seats offer heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The second-row seats are heated and ventilated.



The top-trim Eletre X is called SE. It costs 558,000 yuan (80,730 USD). The SE variant boasts an advanced assisted driving system with the Navigate On Autopilot (NOA) function. Other upgrades include an active 48V anti-roll bar, the electrochromic panoramic glass roof, carbon fiber interior package, and a UWB key. The brand’s officials highlighted that these options are worth 60,000 yuan (8,680 USD).
The Eletre X SE could also be optionally equipped with a four-seat interior with two captain chairs in the rear. They boast power adjustments, heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The powertrain of the Lotus Eletre X SE is in line with the Eletre X Standard.
The brand’s officials highlighted that the Lotus Eletre X will start deliveries in China on March 30. At the same time, this vehicle has already become available for test drives in Lotus stores across the Middle Kingdom.
More about the Lotus Eletre X
The Lotus Eletre X is a plug-in hybrid counterpart of the all-electric Lotus Eletre performance SUV launched in 2022. These two models are similar in terms of exterior and interior styling. The Eletre X boasts hefty dimensions of 5103/2019/1636 mm. The wheelbase reaches 3,019 mm. This PHEV boasts a gross weight of 3,055 kg. It can tow up to 2,250 kg. The trunk volume is 688 liters.


The Lotus Eletre X adopts the X-Hybrid platform with a 900V high-voltage system. The car has a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine delivering 205 kW (275 hp) paired with two electric motors. The car’s peak power output is 700 kW (939 hp). Such a combination allows the China-spec Eletre X to speed up to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. This large SUV reaches 200 km/h in 10.5 seconds, and completes the quarter-mile (402 meters) in 11.16 seconds.
Lotus officials said it can generate up to 150 kW of power and provides 25kWh of energy per hour during highway cruising. The new SUV can accelerate to 100 km/h with 10% battery charge in 3.5 seconds, as the system still provides around 550 kW (737 hp) of power. The Eletre X offers six-piston Brembo brake calipers and Pirelli P Zero 5 LTS tires.
In PHEV mode, the Lotus For Me consumes 0.06 – 0.07 liters per 100 km under WLTC conditions. With a drained battery, its fuel consumption increases to 5.98 – 6.10 liters per 100 km. Thanks to a 52-liter fuel tank, the Eletre X can run up to 1,416 km in mixed mode.
