Nio recently reported the first-ever quarterly profit in China, mainly due to the successful launch of the third-gen ES8 crossover. According to China EV DataTracker, William Li’s company delivered 28,905 units of the new ES8 to customers from January to February 2026. It accounted for 80.4% of the brand’s sales. It is a bad indicator, signaling that other Nio models struggle with sluggish sales.
The registration data shows that Nio handed over 2,160 ES6 crossovers and just 806 EC6 fastback SUVs. Moreover, the ET5 sedan sold 929 units, while the ET5 Touring’s sales reached slightly better 3,001 units. The Chinese NEV maker launched updated variants of these models to boost sales.
