Spotted in China: Volkswagen Passta
A repair gone wrong, or a factory worker drunk? This is the China-only & world-only Volkswagen Passta, seen in Beijing by my cousin HdF, who earlier found us a Blinged Maserati. A Volkswagen Passta could actually be a good sell in some markets, like Italy. In China it matters not, since nobody will notice something is wrong.
Better than the food.
The good old Volkswagen Passta Passat is still in production in China today, made by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture. The vehicle has been refreshed a couple of times over the years, the last facelift was in 2009. Price starts at 169.800 yuan and ends at 303.800 yuan. Engines: 1.8 turbo, 2.0 MFI, and a 2.8 V6.
