Most police cars in China are Volkswagen, Volkswagen or Volkswagen. There are some strangers around such as Beijing Jeep, Roewe, Incalcu or Greatwall but Volkswagen is by far the biggest supplier. Citroen is a small player in police-car country but recently they had one big score: the Qiemo County Public Security Bureau (police) in Inner Mongolia province bought six brand-new Citroen c-Elysee police cars for patrol duties.

The c-Elysee is based on the good old Citroen ZX and made in China by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture. Power comes from from a 1.6 with 78kw and 142nm. Top speed is 185km/h, 0-100 takes 7.8 seconds. Price starts at only 62.800 yuan and that ain’t much for a future classic.
