We have seen the new Chang’an S101 SUV testing around many a times, these are the very first spy shots of the real thing. Pics are likely taken with a smart phone from a presentation, not perfectly clear yet, but we can see what it will be. Not a bad design this is at all, sharp lines, strong forward stance, modern looks.
Design-wise the S101 is based on the S101 is based on the Chang’an Concept SUV that debuted at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September last year. I really liked the grille on the concept car, grille on real thing loox more conventional.
This might be a sporty version, blacked out wheels and a sorta diffuser. There will be two engines: a 1.6 and a new 1.5 turbo with a healthy 165hp and 250nm. Transmission: 5-speed manual or 6-speed tiptronic. Size: 4200/1750/1660, wheelbase is 2550mm.
The S101 will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April, it will be listed on the China car market in Q4. Price was estimated to range from 70.000 yuan until 100.000 yuan, Chinese media however estimated it a little bit higher now; from 80.000 yuan until 110.000 yuan.
