The new SouEast V5 sedan debuted last month at the Beijing Auto Show. Chinese media reports it will hit the car market in September. The V5 is a fine looking car based on the last-gen Mitsubishi Lancer which is still made in China by the SouEast-Mitsubishi joint venture.

Price will range from 70.000 yuan until 90.000 yuan and that puts the SouEast V5 in one of the most competitive market segments in China. Well, if you survive there… The V5 will be available with only one engine at launch: an imported Mitsubishi-sourced ’4B10′ 1.8 with 144hp mated to a CVT. Later on SouEast will offer its own 1.5 and 1.5 turbo which will push price up to some 120.000 yuan.
