The first spy shot of the Skoda Superb Greenline testing in China. The Greenline-line consists of automobiles that are marginally cleaner than standard cars but much slower. Skoda launched the Octavia Greenline-2 on the Chinese car market in August, this greenpee Superb will debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.

Power comes from a 131hp 1.4 turbo, the same unit as in the green Octavia and also the same unit that powers the fake China-made Volkswagen GTI. This engine is on the small side for the big Superb, so it needs to work much harder and will kill more penguins in the process. Useless!

Other green stuff includes a start & stop system, a brake energy recovery system, low profile tires and… dig dig… Greenline badges! The not-so-green Skoda Superb Greenline will be made in China by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture that also makes the standard Superb, which is a very boring car to begin with, this green-ish thing will be horrible.
