Strange Ornaments on a Hyundai Sonata in China

Strange metal ornaments on a fourth generation Hyundai Sonata in China, seen in the always sunny Hainan Province by reader Stefan M., thank you for the picture! Above the grille sits a Hyundai ‘H’ hood-ornament but the ‘spiderweb’ around the head lights is particularly interesting.

Very well made, likely by hand, and in a way, very kinky. The fourth generation Hyundai Sonata is still in production in China, made by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture. The car on pic seems an early car, likely produced around 2007.

The current China-made Sonata MolnCa, yez that is ‘MolnCa’, a very weird name given to this oldie to differ it from the fifth generation Sonata (Sonata Yu Xiang) and the current sixth generation Sonata. All are made in China by Beijing-Hyundai! Price of the 4th-gen Sonata starts at 114.800 yuan and ends at 139.800 yuan. Engines: 1.8 and 2.0.
