Spy Shots: Chery E2 sedan is Ready for the China car market
New spy shots of the Chery E2 sedan testing in China. The Chery E2 will debut on the April 2014 Beijing Auto Show and it will be launched on the China car market around the same time. The Chery E2 sedan is the long awaited successor of the current Seat Toledo-based Chery Cowin 2. Chery is also working on a hatchback variant which will be called Chery E1.
The Chery E2 and E1 will be powered by 1.3 and 1.5 liter four-cylinder gasoline engines, mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Price for the E2 sedan will start around 55.000 yuan. Size: 4250/1726/1510mm, wheelbase is 2510mm.
The Chery E2 is an important car for Chery as it is the brand’s cheapest sedan and thus an important weapon for winning the hearts and minds of the zillions of first-car buyers in third and fourth tier cities.
