The China-only Volvo S60L will become available with a ‘T3’ 1.5 liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine. The Volvo S60L is a stretched version of the Volvo S60, it was launched on the Chinese car market in December 2013. The T3  engine is not available in the Volvo S60 anywhere else and only used in the Volvo V40 at the moment. The engine has an output of 180hp and 265nm.The other engines for the S60L, a a 182hp 2.0 turbo and a 214hp 2.0 turbo, will continue.

The three-cylinder engine will make the S60L much cheaper as cars in China are taxed, among other things, on engine capacity. The T3 will thus become the entry-level car of the line-up with price expected to start around 220.000 yuan. The current range starts at 269.900 yuan and ends at 330.900 yuan. The Volvo S60L T3 will be launched in early Q2.
