The best Spy Shots so far of the new Xin Longma Qiteng EX80 mini MPV for China, looking good in blue with odd wheel covers that appear to be Photoshopped into the photo. No matter that, the Qiteng EX80 is for real and will be launched on the Chinese car market in Q4.
Price for the Qiteng EX80 will start around 65.000 yuan and end around 90.000 yuan. Power will come from a 1.5 liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 116hp, mated to a five-speed manual. Size: 4397/1730/1764, and wheelbase is 2721.
Many more Chinese car buyers living in the cities fall for the practicality of a mini MPV, choosing one over the standard sedan. The MPV’s seat seven plus a dog, don’t use much fuel, and are small enough to park anywhere.
Xin Longma is a new car brand under the Fujian Group, a large automotive conglomerate that also has large stakes in SoutEast Automotive, van maker Fujian-Benz, and bus maker King Long. The brand recently announced an English for the Qiteng minivan series: Keyton.
And the X80’s EV variant? Will it get the same powertrain as the Qiteng M70 EV variant?
