According to the dealer and BitAuto, the Geely Panda Mini EV has officially opened its pre-sale. Panda Mini EV is a micro four-seat EV. It has a short-range version and a long-range version. Under CLTC conditions, the short-range version has 120 km, while the long-range version has a 200 km range. Panda Mini EV price is about 40,000 – 60,000 RMB (5,900 – 8,800 USD) based on the trim level. The official launch date of this car is planned on February 6.
The brief overview of Panda Mini EV
The exterior design of the Geely Panda Mini EV reminds actual panda bears. For example, the design inspiration for the two headlights comes from the two eyes of the panda. Panda Mini EV has two rows of four seats. The vehicle body’s length, width, and height are 3065/1522/1600mm, and the wheelbase is 2015mm.
Panda Mini EV equipped with LFP batteries from Guoxuan Hi-Tech. The max driving speed can reach 100 km/h. In addition, the long-endurance version is fitted with 30KW (41hp) front motor and supports 22KW DC fast charging, which can charge the power from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.
Function configuration of Panda Mini EV
In terms of configuration, the vehicle is equipped with a 9.2-inch LCD instrument panel and an 8-inch LCD central control screen, which supports intelligent voice recognition. This model has the driver’s airbag, child safety seat interface, tire pressure alarm system, electronic central locking, electric window adjustment, rearview camera, and rear parking radar. At the same time, Panda Mini EV is equipped with a laser welded body, high-strength steel, and a side anti-collision steel beam.
On January 28, the CEO of Geely Group set the target of selling 600,000 EVs in 2023. In the previous plan, micro EVs were an important part of Geely’s impact on 600,000 sales. The main competitor of Geely Panda Mini EV is Wuling Mini EV, the sales champion of micro EVs in the Chinese market. The Wuling Mini EV sold 554,067 vehicles in 2022, and the cumulative sales exceeded 1.1 million.
