New Changan CS75 Plus iDD plug-in hybrid compact SUV unveiled in China

On March 9th, Changan’s third-generation CS75 Plus iDD hybrid compact SUV made its public debut at the carmaker’s Smart Electric Night event. The car is expected to officially launch in April this year and compete directly with the BYD Song PLUS DM-i plug-in hybrid SUV. Customers can start placing pre-orders. The gasoline power version currently on the market is the second generation.

The front face adopts a V-shaped borderless grille design. The long and narrow headlights on both sides are connected by through-type LED light strips.

As a compact SUV, the size of the car is 4700/1865/1710mm with a 2710mm wheelbase. From the side, the outer edge of the window, the roof rack, the side skirts, and the wheel eyebrows have been blackened. Changan has yet to announce the interior information.

There are multiple cameras at the front and rear of the body and under the rearview mirror. It is likely that the CS75 Plus iDD will support level 2 driving assistance functions.

The car runs on 225/55 R19 tires.

The rear adopts a Y-shaped through-type taillight design composed of more than 100 LED lights. There is an exhaust outlet on each side and an “iDD” logo to indicate its identity as a plug-in hybrid model.

The car is equipped with Changan’s Blue Whale iDD plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5T engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack. The engine outputs 122kW and 255Nm, and the electric motor outputs 110 kW. Changan claims that the CS75 Plus iDD has an acceleration time of 3.6 seconds from 60 to 100km/h and 4.5 seconds from 80 – 120km/h. Its NEDC comprehensive fuel consumption per 100 km is as low as 0.9L.

Lastly, the CS75 Plus iDD is equipped with a 28.39kWh battery pack that pushes out an NEDC pure electric cruising range of 150km. The car also supports 220V household charging, and AC & DC dual fast charging. The charge can reach 80% in as little as 30 minutes under fast charging.
