The Lynk & Co 06 EM-P facelift was unveiled by the Chinese MIIT during the homologation process. It stands on the same BMA platform and has 102 km of electric range. But its exterior design follows the brand’s new design language that we have firstly seen on the Lynk & Co 08. It also adopts the EM-P plug-in hybrid powertrain. Let’s get to know the Lynk & Co 06 better.

Lynk & Co 06 facelift

The exterior of the Lynk & Co 06 follows the design language of the Lynk & Co 08 with signature running light units that form vertical strips atop of the bonnet. Its headlights are integrated into the small grille. As for the front bumper, it has big air intakes. From the back, we can see that the Lynk & Co 06 has two thin taillight units and a fuzzy bumper with air intake imitations and some decorative horizontal stripes. It also has plastic trim on the lower part of the body. All in all, the Lynk & Co 06 looks nice, but a bit bulky because of thin LED lights and a lot of plastic trim around the body.

Speaking about the dimensions of the Lynk & Co 06, they are 4350/1820/1625 mm with a wheelbase of 2640 mm. So, it is 10 mm longer than the previous version of the 06. Anyway, it still stands on the quite simple BMA (B-segment Modular Architecture platform) that underpins quite a lot of cheap Geely cars like Binyue (Coolray) SUV and Emgrand sedan. The 06 can be equipped with 215/55 R18 or 225/45 R19 optional wheels. Here, we should mention that the 06 got 10 rim variants. As for its approach and departure angles, they are 18 and 22 degrees, respectively.

It’s time to speak about the powertrain of the Lynk & Co 06 EM-P. Under the hood, this small SUV has a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated ICE that generates 88 kW (120 hp). It is paired with an electric motor for 160 kW (218 hp). As for its total power output, it has yet to be unknown. On the other hand, we do know that its battery is made by SVOLT. Its capacity reaches 19.1 kWh, good for 102 km of fully electric range on a single charge.

Editor’s comment

All in all, the new Lynk & Co 06 looks pretty good. The only drawback of this vehicle is a simple and cheap BMA platform. Anyway, it will be a good daily driver in big cities. Equipped with the efficient plug-in hybrid system, it has all the chances to become popular in China. Moreover, we think that it can attract a lot of potential customers in Europe. However, we have no information about Lynk & Co plans on the export of this model. So far, the European market has a single model (the Lynk & Co 01). Soon, it will also get the mysterious Lynk & Co 02 EV. Previously, we made an article about it.
