About P7i

P7i entered market on March 10th as a refreshed version of P7 offered for 249,900 – 339,900 yuan (34,400-46,800 USD). The car’s exterior did not see much changes, as the most of them were focused on the car’s interior. The battery was upgraded from 81 kWh to 86 kWh. Although it kept 400 V architecture, the maximum charging power was increased by 90 kW to 175 kW.

Car’s entertainment system was also upgraded as 820 chip was replaced by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SA8155P, making the system’s response faster. The EV still provides two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models to choose from. The two-wheel drive model has a maximum power of 203 kW, a maximum torque of 440 Nm, an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h in 6.4s, and a cruising range of 702km under CLTC conditions. On the other hand, the dual-motor four-wheel drive model has a maximum power of 348 kW, a maximum torque of 757 Nm, an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h in 3.9s, and a cruising range of 610 km under CLTC conditions.

Xpeng’s sales have been sluggish lately. In the first seven months of this year the sales reached 52,443 units. For a comparison, in the first seven months of the last year, the Shenzhen car maker delivered over 80,500 vehicles. So, the discounts on the refreshed version of Model 3’s competitor on the same day Tesla launched Model 3’s refreshed version might not be a coincidence.
