BeyonCa EV manufacturer from the former vice president of Volkswagen Group Soh Weimin established strategic partnership with the Municipal Government of Zhuji city, Zhejiang province. They will deepen collaboration and jointly promote the new energy vehicle sphere. Previously, BeyonCa signed a deal with the Saudi investor.
BeyonCa & Zhuji Municipal Government strategic cooperation
On December 6, BeyonCa announced the strategic cooperation with the Municipal Government of Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province. It was signed at Renault HQ in Paris, France.
For those who have forgotten, BeyonCa was founded by Soh Weiming (Renault China CEO) and Christian Klinger in 2021. They formed a strong team of VW and Mercedes-Benz employees. Its first concept car was unveiled last year. It is the GT Opus 1 electric coupe with a 5.2-meter body length and a 130-kWh battery. Its price was said to start from 1 million yuan (136,700 USD). BeyonCa’s target audience is people aged 40-49. Its brand strategy and market positioning stay close to Porsche. BeyonCa aims to sell 100,000 vehicles in the next 3-5 years.
Back to the strategic partnership, BeyonCa didn’t detail it. But Shen Zhijiang, Secretary of the Zhuji Municipal Party Committee, mentioned that they would deepen their exchanges and collaboration with BeyonCa, seizing the opportunity for joint development in the field of new energy vehicles. Dong Guanghui, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Zhuji Economic Development Zone, added that Zhuji is an ideal location for the new energy vehicle industry.

Why is Zhuji City so friendly to NEVs?
Zhuji is a Chinese city with a population of 1.2 million people. It also ranks in the Top 100 cities for green development and business environment. In 2022, Zhuji’s Development and Reform Bureau applied for the subsidy fund project to promote new energy vehicles (BEV+PHEV+EREV). This project comprises NEV investment projects, charging infrastructure constructions, etc.
Zhuji actively promotes green energy projects, constructing different industrial parks. They include Intelligent Vision Industry Park, Intelligent Manufacturing Park, NEV Electric Drive System Headquarters, Semiconductor Industry Park, Henglong Auto Parts Park, etc.
And still, BeyonCa’s intentions for this city are unclear. There are several possibilities, including establishing the manufacturing plant here. We will monitor future information on this strategic cooperation, so stay tuned!
