On January 3, Geely launched a new version of its Boyue Cool compact SUV called Friends Edition, priced at 99,800 yuan (14,000 USD). Currently, there are a total of six Boyue Cool models, including the Friends Edition, on sale, with a price range of 99,800 – 125,800 yuan (14,000 – 17,700 USD).
The Geely Boyue Cool Friends Edition measures 4510/1865/1650 mm, with a 2701 mm wheelbase.
The seat adopts a 2+3 layout, which is consistent with the current model. The standard trunk capacity is 571 liters.
The appearance of the new car continues the design of the current model, which is based on the Starburst design language design, meant to give a youthful, fashionable, and sporty vibe, according to Geely. The car runs on 18-inch aluminum alloy rims.
The interior layout remains unchanged with a T-shaped cockpit against a black background. It has a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 13.2-inch vertical central control screen with a resolution of 1440 x 1920, and a four-spoke flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel. The Geely Boyue Cool Friends Edition continues to be equipped with a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and the Geely Galaxy OS Air operating system, which supports functions such as GPS navigation, OTA updates, and voice recognition.
At the same time, compared with the current model on sale, the Friends Edition cancels functions such as one-button engine start & stop, front side airbags, second-row seat headrest & armrest, and advanced driving assistance capabilities including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, traffic jam assist, and lane departure warning.
The powertrain also remains unchanged with a new generation of Geely’s Jinqing 1.5T turbocharged engine that outputs a maximum power of 133 kW and a peak torque of 290 Nm, mated to a 7-speed DCT. The 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 7.9 seconds and the WLTC comprehensive fuel consumption is 6.44L/100km.
