On January 3rd, Geely introduced the latest addition to its Haoyue series – the Haoyue Pro, slated for an early January release. This model is coming hot on the heels of the recently announced Boyue Cool model. Collaborating with the Haoyue L, this new model aims to enhance the Haoyue lineup’s competitiveness in the market.

The Haoyue series sells under the Okavango name internationally and comprises three SUVs: Haoyue (Okavango), Haoyue L and Haoyue Pro. Internationally the Haoyue Pro sells under the Livan brand, which is owned jointly by Geely and Lifan. In China, Livan primarly focuses on battery swappable electric vehicles. Internationally however, older Geely vehicles like the Livan X6 Pro (Haoyue Pro in China) and X3 Pro (Geely Vision X3 in China) are ICE vehicles in its line up.

The exterior design hints that the Haoyue Pro is developed based on the Vision Pro model and a resurrection of the Vision X6 Pro that left the Chinese market. It features a vast matrix-style grille adorned with the silver Geely emblem. The headlight assembly retains its basic contours and will offer both halogen and LED light sources for added functionality. Additionally, the new vehicle is equipped with fresh-styled 18-inch five-spoke wheels, with side and rear design elements resembling those of the Vision X6 Pro.

According to the application information, the Haoyue Pro measures 4518/1834/1715 millimeters (length, width, height) with a wheelbase of 2666 millimeters, maintaining consistency in body dimensions with its predecessors.

Inside, the Haoyue Pro adopts an entirely new design approach, featuring a floating dual-screen setup on the center console, significantly reducing the number of physical buttons. The armrest area integrates physical control keys for electronic gear shifting and parking brakes. Furthermore, the new model sports dual-tone integrated leather seats, with the center console boasting laser-carved decorative panels. With a 5-seat layout, it distinctly differentiates itself from the Haoyue L.

Regarding its powertrain, as per the application information, the new Haoyue Pro will be equipped with a 1.5T turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum power of 133 kilowatts. Its urban fuel consumption is estimated at 6.96L/100km. This engine is among Geely Motors’ primary models, also utilized in the recently announced Boyue COOL model, with an estimated peak torque of 290Nm.

While official pricing has yet to be announced, industry experts predict the pricing to be similar to that of the Vision X6Pro which is priced at 75,900 – 89,900 yuan (10,700 to 12,600 USD). However with some upgrades compared to that model a price closer to 100,000 yuan (14,000 USD) is also possible.
