Ahead of the Denza Z9 GT launch in May we have got hold of some spy shots of the interior. The flagship wagon from the Denza brand, in which Merecedes-Benz still owns a 10% stake with the remainder belonging to BYD, will start deliveries around the middle of the year. Sales in Europe will commence in 2025.

Thanks to the MIIT listing we have a very good idea of the outside of the car but until now we didn’t know much about how the interior looked. From recent spy shots we can see the Z9 continues on from the style first seen in the Denza N7, however given its flagship status we can expect the equipment levels and materials to be superior. There’s a three screen setup in the front with an LCD instrument panel for the driver, a large floating infotainment screen in the center of the dashboard and an entertainment screen for the passenger integrated into the dashboard.

As spied the car has a beige and brown scheme for the interior although there are likely to be other options as well. On the center console is a large crystal rocker style gear selector. Below this are buttons to control functions including the driving mode, braking regeneration strength, air conditioning and other commonly selected functions.

The Denza Z9 measures in at 5180, 1990, and 1500 (1480) mm in terms of length, width and height. And with a wheelbase of 3125 mm it is really quite a large car. Design wise it looks quite similar to the N7 except in a lower, larger form. We know that the Denza Z9 GT comes with a panoramic roof and an electric wing.

It will be the most powerful Denza to date with a three motor system. On the front axle is a 230 kW motor while the rear axle has two motors with 240 kW each. Combined power is 710 kW giving the Z9 a top speed of 240 km/h – not bad for a car weighing 2,875 kg. Feeding those motors will be BYD’s blade battery but as yet we don’t know the capacity of the unit.

Denza has certainly come a long way from it’s slow selling days when it is was a 50:50 joint venture. Mercedes-Benz watered down its stake in 2021 and since then the brand has gone front strength to strength.

  1. What a great looking car! A real competitor to Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo.
Let’s see if the manage to add a BIG battery (Blade 0.2 version) in it…

Well, of course the price will be too high for “normal” people, but it is allowed to dream. 🙂

    • Hi John,
Permit me to disagree with you. The interior of my Atto 3 is actually the best part of the design. 🙂
On the outside however, it look like all other Chinese – and it’s at least 13 of them on a dozen.

      • Of course, tastes are tastes, but I was speaking in general, also seeing the sales of Byd Atto 3 in Europe, which are very low a year after its introduction. Maybe Seal will do a little better, but I think BYD needs to speed up the introduction of the Blade Battery 2 and the new platform

      • When I test drove the car I really liked the interior, the exterior is very anonymous. However, I do wonder what the interior would be like to live with especially if you have kids.
