Currently, Deepal sells the SL03 and S7. Its G318 off-road SUV will begin delivery in June. Additionally, Deepal might replace and rename the SL03 and S7, in which the sedan will adopt the L series and the SUV will adopt the S series, according to Chinese media DongCheDi. It is also worth pointing out that earlier at the Beijing Auto Show, Deepal announced its partnership with Huawei to build smart electric vehicles, adopting the Huawei smart car solutions.

The Deepal S05 measures 4620/1900/1600 mm with a 2880 mm wheelbase and can seat five people as the standard. Compared with the Deepal S7 (4750/1930/1625 mm, with a 2900 mm wheelbase), the Deepal S05’s body length and wheelbase are shorter. Overall, the new car’s appearance is round. The front features a closed face with split LED headlights.

The rear features a high-mounted brake light, a double-layer through-type taillight group, and a slightly raised ducktail.

Furthermore, different styles of roofs, luggage racks, exterior mirrors, roof cameras, window frame trims, and rims will be available for consumers to choose from. At the same time, the hidden door handles are also present.

In terms of the powertrain, the EV model will be equipped with a 175 kW electric motor model XTDM40. The EREV model will be equipped with a 72 kW 1.5L range extender and a 160 kW electric motor model XTDM38. The battery will be lithium iron phosphate type, but the detailed specifications have been revealed at this time.

In April, Deepal delivered 12,744 vehicles, a month-on-month decrease of 0.02%. So far, in the first four months of 2024, Deepal delivered a total of 52,828 vehicles, which is only about 19% of its annual sales target of 280,000 vehicles.
