In January this year, Changan teased its Deepal G318 hardcore SUV. Now, Voyah also has a model named 318 under its Voyah Free series, positioned as a “road traveler” and has the longest all-electric range for an EREV SUV, according to Voyah. Today, the 318 is open for pre-sale with various perks and will launch on June 14. The official pricing information was not announced.

According to Voyah, the car pays tribute to China National Highway 318, which starts at People’s Square in Shanghai and ends at the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge in Zhangmu Town, Nyalam County, Tibet Autonomous Region, totaling 5,476 km long, just like the Deepal G318. Hence, the Voyah Free 318 targets young people who love traveling.

Built based on the existing Voyah Free, the Voyah Free 318 has been upgraded in multiple dimensions including appearance, battery life, intelligence configurations, and safety. Its size measures 4905/1950/1645 mm, and the wheelbase is 2960 mm, which is consistent with the 2024 Voyah Free.

An exclusive “Titanium Crystal Gray” paint has been added, and the car runs on black five-spoke rims, 255/45 R20 Michelin tires, and red sports calipers.

Power comes from a range-extender system from the latest generation of Voyah’s Lanhai power platform consisting of a 110 kW 1.5T engine, a 200 kW electric motor, and a 43 kWh Voyah Amber battery pack. Voyah claims that this is the only power platform in the current market that can supply BEV, PHEV, and EREV at the same time. The official pure electric range is 318 km, the comprehensive range is 1,458 km, the fuel consumption is 6.19 L per 100 km, and the fastest 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 4.5 seconds.

Inside, the cockpit adopts a triple-screen design consisting of an instrument panel, a central control screen, and a co-pilot entertainment screen. Equipped with the Baidu Apollo 2.0 intelligent driving system, the Voyah Free 318 features upgrades including traffic cone recognition on the highway, traffic light intersection following and reminders, and precise autonomous parking in dim-light parking spots.

In addition, the cockpit configurations have also been upgraded. In environments with no network or weak network such as bridge tunnels, tunnels, and underground parking lots, the network quality can be maintained. Furthermore, Voyah claimed that more than 100 new functions have been added for vehicle control along with a smart pet monitoring mode that can monitor the status of pets in the rear seats in real-time to proactively warn of any abnormalities.
