On July 8, 2024, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) JV’s Wuling Bingo EV was officially launched in Thailand, with a price range of 419,000 – 449,000 baht (83,590 – 89,670 yuan or 11,500 – 12,300 USD) and a CLTC cruising range of 333 km.
It is worth pointing out that the Wuling Bingo EV (see spec here) was launched in Indonesia and Nepal in December 2023, and it has now entered the Thai market.
Earlier on July 1, EV Primus, an electric vehicle dealer in Thailand, distributed the first batch of the Wuling Binguo EV to 41 dealers across Thailand to get ready for this launch.
On June 14, the 2024 Wuling Bingo EV was launched in China, with four trims priced between 56,800 – 84,800 yuan (7,850 – 11,700 USD):
- 203 km 2024 Light
- 333 km 2024 Enjoyment
- 333 km 2024 Lingxi Connected
- 410 km 2024 Lingxi Premium
The new car’s size and appearance remain unchanged: 3950/1708/1580 mm with a 2560 mm wheelbase, except for the addition of a Snow Mountain white exterior color for the 203 km light trim.
The 333 km and 410 km range versions come with an upgraded water-cooled flat-wire electric motor, with the maximum power still at 50 kW (67 hp), and the top speed increased from 120 km/h to 130 km/h. The 203 km range version is still equipped with a 30 kW (40 hp) electric motor with a top speed of 100 km/h. At the same time, the battery pack capacity remains unchanged: 17.3 kWh, 31.9 kWh, and 37.9 kWh, which correspond to a CLTC cruising range of 203 km, 333 km, and 410 km, respectively. Additionally, the entire series supports DC fast charging where it takes 35 minutes to replenish the battery from 30% to 80%.
In 2023, 231,102 units of the Wuling Bingo EV were sold. In May 2024, the Wuling Bingo EV sold 13,870 units, a 2.08% year-on-year decrease and an 18.05% month-on-month increase. From January to May 2024, its cumulative sales reached 56,771 units.
