The Geely-backed Zeekr 7X electric crossover delivered 20,000 cars 50 days after its sales had started in China. This high-end BEV priced at 32,000 USD aims to become the brand’s bestselling car. However, the pace of the 7X’s deliveries slowed down after the hyped launch.
Zeekr is a Chinese high-end NEV brand launched by Geely in 2021. In May this year, Zeekr raised 441 million USD on a New York IPO. Its current model line comprises six vehicles. And the Geely-backed brand’s cumulative sales from January to October 2024 reached 167,922 units. Its current bestseller is the Zeekr 001 shooting brake. However, the recently launched Zeekr 7X crossover (see specs) aims to become the brand’s new hot seller.
Zeekr delivered 20,000 7X crossovers domestically
The Zeekr 7X entered the Chinese market on September 20. According to the brand’s representatives, it surpassed 6,000 firm (non-refundable) orders 24 hours after the launch. Ten days after the launch, on September 30, Zeekr announced it handed over 5,000 cars to the first owners. A week later, the Chinese automaker disclosed it secured 20,000 firm orders for the Zeekr 7X.
Fifty days after the launch, on November 11, Zeekr officially delivered 20,000 cars to customers in China Mainland. This is an impressive sales performance for a product with a starting price of 229,900 yuan (32,000 USD). However, the Zeekr 7X deliveries slowed down compared to the first week after the sales started.
In ten days after the launch, Zeekr delivered 500 units of the 7X on average. But in the next 40 days, the daily delivery rate declined to approximately 375 cars per day. In September this year, Zeekr disclosed it has 430 directly operated stores in China.
