The Avatr 06 sedan from Changan, Huawei, and CATL was officially revealed in China as a mid-size sedan with BEV and EREV powertrain variants. It will rival the Geely-backed Zeekr 007 in the domestic market. The Avatr 06 will also adopt the Huawei Qiankun ADAS system and Harmony OS.
Avatr is a joint brand between Changan and CATL. Huawei has no shares in this project. Instead, it is the key parts and OS supplier. The Avatr’s model line comprises three models: the Avatr 11 fastback SUV, the Avatr 12 liftback, and the Avatr 07 crossover. Previously, Avatr produced only battery-electric vehicles. However, it has recently entered the EREV segment to boost its sales volume. Soon, Avatr will launch the fourth model, which is the 06 sedan. It was previously known by the codename Avatr E16.

The Avatr 06 is a mid-size sedan with the Avatr 2.0 design language. It adopts two-story LED running lights, a closed front end, and a large active air intake in the front bumper. The Avatr 06 has cameras instead of side-view mirrors, retractable door handles, a blackened roof, a ducktail spoiler, and two thin taillight strips.
The Avatr 06 is a four-door car with dimensions of 4855/1960/1450 mm with a wheelbase of 2940 mm. It is 10 mm shorter and 60 mm wider than the Geely-backed Zeekr 007. The Avatr 06 stands on the CHN platform jointly developed by Changan, Huawei, and CATL. The same architecture underpins other Avatr-branded models.
There is no information about the specs of the Avatr 06 powertrain. However, it was previously reported that this model would adopt the same system as the recently launched Avatr 07 crossover. Its electric variant offers RWD for 252 kW (338 hp) or dual-motor 4WD for 440 kW (590 hp). It has a single LFP battery option for 82 kWh, suitable for the 610 – 650 km range (CLTC).
The EREV variant of the Avatr 07 also has two drive type variants: RWD for 231 kW (310 hp) and 4WD for 362 kW (485 hp). It has a 39-kWh Freevoy LFP battery on board. It also has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that acts as a generator. The electric range of the Avatr 07 reaches 210 – 230 km (CLTC). The mixed range is 1,050 – 1,100 km.
Back to the Avatr 06 sedan, it was previously set to launch in Q4 2024. However, it is more likely the new model will enter the market in early 2025. The Avatr 06 sedan aims to enhance the brand’s market position. From January to November 2024, Avatr sold 45,445 vehicles. It is under 50% of its annual sales target.
