The BYD Atto 2 small electric crossover will launch in France with a starting price of 28,990 EUR (30,450 USD). This model will start sales soon, undercutting competitors from Kia, Opel, and Peugeot. The Atto 2 sells in China under the Yuan Up name.
The BYD Yuan Up small electric crossover entered the Chinese market in March 2024 with a price range of 96,800 – 119,800 yuan (13,350 – 16,530 USD). Its domestic sales volume reached 134,839 units last year. This year, BYD will launch the Yuan Up in Europe under the Atto 2 name. Its starting price for the French market was revealed.

The BYD Atto 2 will start sales in France with an entry price of 28,990 EUR, Reuters reported citing the sales network director of the BYD France. According to the news agency, the Atto 2 will undercut the Kia Niro by 5,000 EUR (5,250 USD), the Opel Mokka-e by 6,000 EUR (6,300 USD), and the Peugeot e-2008 by 7,000 EUR (7,350 USD). Only the small Citroen e-C3 will be 6,000 EUR cheaper than the BYD’s entry-level car.
According to previous information, the BYD Atto 2 will be available for purchase in Europe in two trim levels: Active and Boost. The entry-level car comes standard with a 45.12 kWh LFP battery that supports a DC charging power of 65 kW. This battery pack powers a single electric motor for 130 kW (174 hp) and 290 Nm. The Atto 2 speeds up to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The WLTP range is 312 km.
The BYD Atto 2 Active has 17-inch wheels, leather seats, a 10.1-inch screen, a rear-view camera, rear parking radars, six speakers, and six airbags. It seems that this variant of the BYD’s cheapest crossover will cost 28,990 EUR in France.
The more expensive Atto 2 Boost trim level offers electrically folding side-view mirrors, a heated steering wheel, heated seats, ambient lighting, a boost parcel shelf, a 12.8-inch screen, and eight speakers. Other features include front parking radars and a surround-view camera system. Its price tag has yet to be revealed.
