Lynk & Co 10 EM-P plug-in hybrid sedan breaks cover in China – based on Z10

The Geely‘s Lynk & Co 10 EM-P plug-in hybrid sedan, based on the all-electric Z10, was teased for the first time in China. This model has completed cold-weather tests and is prepared for the domestic sales launch.

The Lynk & Co 10 EM-P is a plug-in hybrid variant of the Z10 electric sedan launched in China in September 2024. Built on the SEA modular architecture, this EV aimed to attract a wide group of customers with a starting price of 186,800 yuan (26,010 USD).

However, the electric Lynk & Co Z10 suffered from slow sales, with 8,370 units delivered from September 2024 to April 2025 (according to China EV DataTracker).  Lynk & Co’s plan B is to launch the PHEV version of the Z10 sedan, which is the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P.

Lynk & Co 10 EM-P reveal & winter tests

Previously, Lynk & Co vice general director Mu Jun shared a drawing of the brand’s newest product. He also said that the number “10” will become Geely’s number this year. The first sketch of the car had a “10 EM-P” inscription on it. CarNewsChina assumed it is the official name of Lynk & Co’s latest product. And we were not mistaken with this suggestion.

On June 11, Lynk & Co shared an official video of their new sedan completing winter tests in a northern region of China. At the same time, the brand’s representatives confirmed that the official name of this model is Lynk & Co 10 EM-P. In a video, Lynk & Co called the 10 EM-P “the first choice among PHEV sedans.”

There is no further information about the winter tests completed by the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P. We don’t even know the exact location of the testing. It is highly likely an area next to the Yakeshi city, Inner Mongolia. It is one of the coldest regions in China, with temperatures dropping to minus 40 degrees Celsius. Another possible region of testing is Mohe, Heilongjiang province. It is the coldest Chinese city with the lowest registered temperature of minus 53 degrees Celsius.

Usually, automakers check powertrain systems, battery performance, and suspension durability during cold-weather tests. Completing them means the car is ready to be driven in the harsh conditions of northern regions.

More about the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P

It was previously disclosed that the Lynk & Co 10 EM-P stands on the GEA Evo modular architecture, similar to the recently revealed Geely Galaxy M9 crossover. The latter car has a 1.5-liter turbocharged ICE on board paired with two electric motors. The Lynk & Co 10 EM-P will also feature an Nvidia Drive Thor-U chip for 700 TOPS, the Snapdragon 8295 chip, and air suspension. More about this car as we get it.
