Geely EX5 electric SUV enters the UK for 42,970 USD
The Geely EX5 electric crossover enters the UK market with a starting price of 31,990 GBP (42,970 USD). It rivals other BEV models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Skoda Enyaq. The EX5 comes standard with a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor powered by a 60.2 kWh LFP battery, offering a range of 267 miles.
The Geely EX5 is often referred to as the brand’s first BEV model for global markets. However, it is actually the second pure electric Geely car to sell outside China after the Geely Geometry C. The latter vehicle is an electric variant of the petrol-powered Geely Emgrand GS. However, the EX5 is a different story. It is underpinned by the GEA modular architecture designed specifically for new energy cars.
The Geely EX5 sells domestically as the Galaxy E5. It entered China in August 2024, rapidly becoming one of the brand’s bestselling models. Priced at 107,800 yuan (15,140 USD), it sold over 150,000 units as of August 2025, according to China EV DataTracker. Moreover, the Geely EX5 has already entered around 30 overseas markets. The UK became the latest stop for this SUV.
Geely EX5 in the UK
The Geely EX5 launched in the UK with three trim levels: SE, Pro, and Max. The entry-level car starts at 31,990 GBP (42,990 USD). The medium variant has a recommended retail price of 33,990 GBP (45,670 USD). And the top-trim EX5 Max costs 36,990 GBP (49,700 USD). It is seemingly cheaper than its rival, the Skoda Enyaq, which starts at 39,010 GBP (52,410 USD).
The top-trim Geely EX5 offers 16 Flyme Sound speakers, a head-up display, a large 15.4-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay (and no Android Auto), a power tailgate, and a driver assistance system. While offering a lot of functional equipment, the EX5 has a pale, minimalistic styling. It has retractable door handles, a single taillight unit, and a closed front end with thin headlamps.
Dimensions of the Geely EX5 are 4615/1901/1670 mm with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The Geely EX5 adopts a single e-motor in the front axle with a peak power output of 160 kW (215 hp). It is powered by a single battery for 60.2 kWh. It is enough for a cruising range of 267 miles (430 km) under WLTP conditions. For comparison, the mentioned Enyaq offers a 150 kW (201 hp) e-motor and a 63 kWh battery for 269 miles (433 km) of range.
