The all-new Li Auto L9 Livis flagship EREV crossover was officially revealed in China. It boasts a peak computing power of 2,560 TOPS, four-wheel steering, and 800V active suspension. It will enter the market shortly with a price tag of 559,800 yuan (80,685 USD).
The Li Auto L9 was initially launched in China in June 2022 and began deliveries in September, turning into a huge success. According to China EV DataTracker, the automaker delivered 38,973 units of this model in 2022. Next year, the L9 continued solidifying its success with 114,377 cars sold. It is a remarkable result for an SUV with a price range of 409,800 – 459,800 yuan (59,065 – 66,270 USD).

However, the Li Auto L9 faced its first real competitor in 2024, which is the Aito M9 full-size SUV from Huawei and Seres. As a result, its annual sales slid by 25% to 85,817 units. In 2025, stronger rivals entered the market, including the Denza N9, the Zeekr 9X, the Lynk & Co 900, and the IM LS9. The L9’s sales plummeted by 47.3% Y-O-Y to 45,214 units. A minor update in May 2025 didn’t improve the model’s sales performance.
Four years ago, the Li Auto L9 was mostly competing with petrol-powered crossovers from legacy brands. However, over the course of several years, a serious competitive environment for market share has developed around this model. To stay competitive, Li Auto unveiled the all-new L9 crossover, called L9 Livis. It offers numerous upgrades at an elevated price tag.
More about the Li Auto L9 Livis
The Li Auto L9 Livis aligns with other L-series models in terms of exterior styling. It still has the brand’s distinguishing Halo running light strip under the bonnet. However, the new model has new flush door handles that comply with the latest standards. The rear end of the L9 Livis was also redesigned. It has a new taillight strip.

The new L9 Livis rides on 22-inch rims with 285/40 tyres. Another feature of this vehicle is a range of two-tone color schemes that resemble Maybach-branded cars. Similar to other Li Auto models, the L9 Livis has a LiDAR sensor on the roof. It seems that the new model became larger than its predecessor. CarNewsChina expects its length to be over 5.3 meters.
Li Auto L9 Livis tech
According to Li Auto CEO Li Xiang, the L9 Livis will adopt the 800V active suspension that can lift each wheel independently with a force of 10,000 Newtons. This solution eliminates the need for anti-roll bars. For clarity, Geely used a different approach here by equipping its ultimate flagship Zeekr 9X with a 48V active anti-roll bar.

The Li Auto L9 Livis adopts steer-by-wire and four-wheel steering technologies that help to reduce the turning radius and enhance handling. Another upgrade of the new model is a fully electronic mechanical braking (EMB). Company officials claimed that their steering-braking electric drive “achieves multiple layers of safety redundancy.”
One of the major highlights of the Li Auto L9 Livis is a staggering computing power of 2,560 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second). For clarity, the previous record holder for computing power, the Xpeng G7, offers 2,250 TOPS. The L9 Livis adopts a pair of 5nm self-developed Mach 100 chips. Li Xiang called this solution “the most powerful intelligent driving brain.”
We will highlight that hardware is only half of the story. Assisted driving systems heavily depend on good software. So, only live tests will reveal if the Li Auto L9 Livis is actually the smartest.
Editor’s comment
As mentioned, the Li Auto L9 Livis will cost 559,800 yuan (80,685 USD) in China. It is 100,000 yuan (14,410 USD) more than the top-trim level of its predecessor. The new L9 costs as much as the Zeekr 9X Hyper with a combined power output of 1,030 kW (1,381 hp).

Li Auto officials revealed that the L9 Livis will offer loads of new tech. However, other Chinese car makers actively serve in such indicators as power figures, battery capacity, electric range, and acceleration to 100 km/h. And these details remain undisclosed. According to previous rumors, the L9 Livis will adopt the 800V 73 kWh CATL-made ternary NMC battery with 5C charging.
Last year, Li Auto presented two hi-tech BEV models (the i6 and the i8) with utterly silent electric motors and a lot of exciting comfort features. However, they fell short of expectations in terms of sales as most of their competitors made a successful bet on power numbers and other factors that are easy to promote to regular consumers. Li L9 Livis mustn’t follow this path, as the company has already encountered a number of difficulties.
