Chinese Guangzhou-based automaker GAC Trumpchi teases the new off-road SUV with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and “digital chassis.” It will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in late April to compete with models from GWM and BYD.
GAC Trumpchi is a passenger car brand launched in 2010. Its model line comprises petrol-powered and plug-in hybrid cars in China. They sell globally under the GAC brand without connection to Trumpchi. According to China EV DataTracker, this brand delivered 39,391 cars domestically from January to February 2026. In early April, GAC released official images and videos of its latest off-roader in official Weibo account.

GAC off-road SUV
The new GAC Trumpchi newest model is known by the codename T75. It adopts a boxy body shape with relatively short overhangs, a flat roofline, large side-view mirrors, and semi-hidden door handles. A full-size spare wheel sits on the swing-out rear door. Other highlights of the GAC T75’s exterior include plastic trim around wheel arches, blackened rims, and sizable headlights.

GAC officials revealed that this vehicle is positioned as a capable off-roader with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It also adopts a “digital chassis.” The brand’s officials didn’t detail this term. However, it usually means that a car adopts such technologies as steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire. Electromechanical braking is gaining traction in China, with the Exeed EX7 and the Li Auto L9 Livis among the first to adopt it.
The new GAC off-roader previously completed cold-weather tests in Yakeshi, Inner Mongolia. It is well-known as one of the coldest places in China, with temperatures dropping below -30°C. In a test video, the new car drove onto a snowy slope with a 30% elevation grade (~16.7 degrees). It also boasted air suspension.

Despite the car being camouflaged, we could spot a LiDAR sensor mounted on its roof. There is a high chance it is supplied by Huawei, as GAC previously launched a new car brand called Aistaland jointly with the mentioned IT giant. The latest cars with Huawei’s assisted driving system adopt a 896-line LiDAR. More sensors sit in the GAC T75’s front fenders.
According to Autohome, the GAC T75 was approved for development in 2024, with total investments in the project reaching 512.65 million yuan (74.48 million USD). As mentioned, the car will debut at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 on April 24. Interestingly, Geely Automobile will also release its latest plug-in hybrid off-roader there. It is called the Galaxy Cruiser 700 (Zhanjian 700).
