The Xiaomi Kunlun EREV crossover was spotted in China, wearing rather revealing camouflage. The car is being tested alongside the Li Auto L9, which became the benchmark for other EREV manufacturers in China. This 7-seat SUV will enter the domestic market this year with a battery capacity of over 70 kWh.
The Xiaomi Kunlun was previously seen multiple times in China, wearing heavy camouflage. It is a full-size SUV with a three-row cabin. The Kunlun will become the brand’s first extended-range electric vehicle as Xiaomi strives to amplify its market share in the NEV segment. Kunlun is a codename of this vehicle. There is a chance it will enter the market as the Xiaomi YU9.
More about Xiaomi Kunlun
The latest spy photos leaked online in China show the Xiaomi Kunlun in thin camouflage film. We can highlight that the model has a closed front end with blocky headlights, a trapeze-shaped air intake, and air inlets on both sides of the bumper. The car boasts a high bonnet line, a LiDAR on the roof, and electrically powered door steps.

The Xiaomi Kunlun also offers semi-hidden door handles and large multi-spoke rims. It is worth noting that the car’s headlamps adopt the brand’s distinctive design, featuring an elongated element in the middle. The Kunlun’s body has wide wheel arches and a slightly curved roofline. There was no information about the dimensions of this SUV. However, its length is likely around 5.2 meters.
The Xiaomi Kunlun was spotted during road tests with the Li Auto L9. This model literally invented the class of full-size EREV crossovers in 2022, generating strong interest from both customers and automakers. It seems that Xiaomi develops the Kunlun, using the L9 as the benchmark. It was previously revealed that the Xiaomi-branded EREV will adopt a battery with a capacity of over 70 kWh. Its electric range will exceed 400 km.

Xiaomi Auto currently sells three electric models: the updated SU7 sedan, the SU7 Ultra sports car, and the YU7 crossover. The brand’s deliveries surpassed 110,000 units from January to April 2026. According to China EV DataTracker, this brand handed over 71,623 units of the YU7 electric crossover in Q1 this year. Only the Geely EX2 (Xingyuan) hatchback and the Tesla Model Y were ahead.
This month, Xiaomi will introduce the fourth model to the market. It is the YU7 GT high-performance SUV with 990 hp. The first batch of these cars was recently spotted at the brand’s production facility in Beijing.
