Stellantis-backed Leapmotor B10 launched in China for 13,580 USD – Atto 3 rival

The Stellantis-backed Leapmotor B10 compact crossover was launched in China with a starting price of 99,800 yuan (13,580 USD). It is the BYD Atto 3 (Yuan Plus) rival aimed at Global markets. The Leapmotor B10 adopts the 800V high-voltage system, a LiDAR sensor, and a range of up to 600 km.

The Leapmotor B10 started presales in China on March 11. During the presales ceremony, the B10 crossover was said to start at 109,800 yuan (14,940 USD). The car got 15,000 orders in the first hour after the presales started. Now, the Leapmotor B10 started sales in China with a lower price tag. Moreover, clients who put an order before May 31, will get some gifts worth up to 15,600 yuan (2,120 USD).

The Leapmotor B10 is a compact crossover that aligns with the brand’s latest design language. It has a closed front end with a thin running light LED strip and split headlights. The Leapmotor B10 has a single taillight unit in the back. Other distinguishing features include retractable door handles, a LiDAR on the roof, and 18-inch wheels. The B10 has seven body color options.

The Leapmotor B10 is a compact model with dimensions of 4515/1885/1655 mm with a wheelbase of 2735 mm. For clarity, it is 60 mm longer, 10 mm wider, and 40 mm lower than the well-known BYD Atto 3 (Yuan Plus) electric crossover. The Leapmotor B10 boasts a 420-liter trunk, which can be expanded to 515 liters by removing the lower layer. With the second-row seats folded, the trunk capacity reaches 1,415 liters. The BYD Atto 3 has a trunk capacity of 440 L.

The Leapmotor B10 has two interior colors: purple and gray. The car’s center console boasts a 14.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen and an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster. Its infotainment system is powered by the Snapdragon 8155 chip from Qualcomm. The Leapmotor OS 4.0 Plus integrates the AI voice interaction model. The main screen also supports Huawei HiCar and Apple CarPlay.

The top-trim Leapmotor B10 adopts power-adjusted seats, 15W wireless phone charging pads, and 12 speakers. It also adopts a LiDAR sensor on the roof, two 8MP front-view cameras, four 3MP surround-view cameras, twelve ultrasonic sensors, and three mm-wave radars. By the end of 2025, the B10 will be capable of Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) in urban areas.

Powertrain and prices

The Leapmotor B10 stands on the Leap 3.5 modular architecture with an 800V high-voltage system. The entry-level model has a single e-motor in the rear axle with a peak power output of 132 kW (177 hp). The more powerful modification has an electric motor for 160 kW (215 hp). It has a 56.2 kWh LFP battery suitable for 510 km of range under CLTC conditions. Higher trims have a 67.1 kWh LFP pack for 600 km.

The Leapmotor B10 with a smaller battery can be charged from 30 to 80% in 19 minutes. A car with a larger pack charges 30-80% in 20 minutes. For comparison, the BYD Atto 3 charges from 30 to 80% in 30 minutes. Moreover, it has smaller battery options for 49.9 kWh and 60.5 kWh for a 430 – 510 km CLTC range.

The Leapmotor B10 is available for purchase in five trim levels:

  • Leapmotor B10 510 Comfort – 99,800 yuan (13,580 USD)
  • Leapmotor B10 510 Enjoy – 109,800 yuan (14,940 USD)
  • Leapmotor B10 510 LiDAR – 119,800 yuan (16,300 USD)
  • Leapmotor B10 600 Joy – 119,800 yuan (16,300 USD)
  • Leapmotor B10 600 LiDAR – 129,800 yuan (17,660 USD)

For clarity, the BYD Atto 3 costs 115,800 – 147,800 yuan (15,750 – 20,100 USD) in China. So, the Leapmotor B10 offers a competitive price. Later, this model will enter overseas markets, including Europe.
