Geely Galaxy M9 PHEV 6-seat SUV broke covers in China – to launch this year

The Geely Galaxy M9 flagship 6-seat crossover with plug-in hybrid powertrain broke cover in China as it readies to enter the market this year. The brand’s officials confirmed the official name of this model. The Galaxy M9 is derived from the Galaxy Starship concept car revealed last year.

Geely Galaxy is a mainstream NEV brand under the Geely Group, launched in 2023. Its current model line comprises eight models. This year, Geely Galaxy will launch the brand’s flagship model. It is the Galaxy M9 crossover. It was spotted in China during a commercial filming. The official name of this model was later confirmed by the brand’s representatives.

The Geely Galaxy M9 adopts the brand’s design language. It has a closed front end with a chrome-plated emblem and two headlights joined by an LED panel. The front bumper of the Galaxy M9 has sporty elements on the sides and an active air intake. This SUV also has a high bonnet line, flush door handles, and a LiDAR sensor on the roof. This photo also gives us a glimpse of the Galaxy M9’s interior with two independent captain chairs in the second row.

From the back, the Geely Galaxy M9 has a large LED taillight unit with an integrated Geely inscription, a roof spoiler, and chrome-plated exhaust pipe imitation. The car also has thin horizontally aligned reflectors. Other highlights of the Galaxy flagship include multi-spoke rims and blackened B- & C-pillars. The Galaxy M9 has independent suspension in the rear axle.

The Geely Galaxy M9’s official name sparked discussions in China, as this model was previously rumored to be called Galaxy Starship 9. Moreover, this name is similar to the Aito M9 from Huawei and Seres. The Aito M9 is the bestselling Chinese full-size EREV SUV with a price range of around 500,000 yuan (69,350 USD). This resemblance may lead to confusion.
