The Onvo L90 electric crossover from Nio started presales in China for 193,900 yuan (27,000 USD) with the BaaS subscription applied. Brand’s officials claimed that it is the lightest full-size three-row SUV with a curb weight of 2,250 kg. The L90 boasts a 900V high-voltage system and a 4D mm-wave radar.
The Onvo L90 is a full-size crossover with dimensions of 5145/1998/1766 mm. Its wheelbase stretches to 3,110 mm. Under the hood, the Onvo L90 has a 240-liter trunk. It is one of the most spacious frunks in the industry. For clarity, the Xiaomi YU7 offers a capacity of 141 liters. The trunk of the L90 provides a capacity of 430 liters.

Positioned as the middle-to-high product, the Onvo L90 offers a wide range of equipment. It includes air suspension that adapts to the driving conditions in real time, minimizing nodding while braking. This vehicle also has four hydraulic bushings for the front and rear suspension. The Onvo L90 is a three-row crossover with two layouts (6 and 7 seats). Each chair of the six-seat version adopts heating, ventilating, and massage functions. The car offers a three-zone climate control, the Onvo sound system, and a ceiling-mounted screen for the rear passengers. It also has microfiber-covered pillars and a ceiling. This SUV also has a built-in refrigerator. The center console of the L90 adopts a large 17.2-inch 3K floating screen.
Unlike Nio-branded cars, the Onvo L90 has no LiDAR on the roof. However, this model adopts the 4D mm-wave radar. It has a maximum detection rate of 370 meters thanks to 48 channels. Nine airbags are here to ensure the passengers’ safety during a collision.
Powertrain and prices of the Onvo L90
The Onvo L90’s core feature is a curb weight of 2,250 kg (the RWD model). According to the brand’s officials, it is the lightest full-size three-row SUV in the world. For comparison, the Lynk & Co 900 from Geely Group weighs 2,660 kg. The Nio ES8 has a curb weight of 2,565 kg. The L90 adopts a “72-in-1” die-cast aluminum alloy rear floor that reduces the weight by 11.7 kg.
The Onvo L90 also has a next-gen battery pack with a capacity of 85 kWh. It has an energy density of 193.2 Wh/kg, which is 26% higher than average. The L90 also adopts a 900V system that reduces the weight of the car’s wiring harness by 50%. The battery weighs 440 kg and provides 570 – 605 km of CLTC range. It supports the battery swap technology.
This pack sends power to the Nio’s flagship electric motor with a weight of 79 kg. It boasts a peak power of 340 kW (456 hp), which is suitable for a zero-to-hundred acceleration in 5.9 seconds. The 4WD variant of the Onvo L90 offers up to 440 kW (590 hp) power. It speeds up to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.
Onvo has kicked off presales of the L90 in China with a starting price of 279,900 yuan (38,980 USD). Similar to other Nio-branded cars, this vehicle is available for purchase with a BaaS (Battery as a Service) subscription. It costs 899 yuan (125 USD) per month in China. This way, the starting price of the Onvo L90 could be sliced by 86,000 yuan (11,980 USD) to 193,900 yuan (27,000 USD). The BaaS price turns the Onvo L90 into a competitive product.
