Geely Galaxy Starship 7 EV key parameters exposed, boasts 215hp
Geely Galaxy’s all-electric variant of the Starship 7 SUV was revealed according to a recent filing by the Chinese MIIT, powered by a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor. The exterior design remains largely the same compared to the PHEV variant.
For reference, the PHEV variant is built based on Geely’s GEA platform and boasts a drag coefficient of 0.288 Cd. Currently, five trims are on sale on the market with a price range of 97,800 to 130,800 yuan (13,700 to 18,400 USD).
The EV variant has body dimensions of 4750/1905/1680 mm (l/w/h), with a 2755 mm wheelbase, which is 10 mm longer and 5 mm shorter than the PHEV variant. Four curb weights were declared: 1760 kg, 1798 kg, 1712 kg, and 1750 kg, likely to indicate four trim levels.
Two tire specifications were revealed: 225/55R18 and 235/50R19.
Power comes from an electric motor (model TZ184XY101) with a maximum power of 160 kW (215 hp) and a top speed of 175 km/h, paired with lithium iron phosphate battery. At this time, the other detailed powertrain parameters and range info have not been revealed.
In comparison, the PHEV is powered by Geely’s NordThor EM-i system consisting of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor, matched with lithium iron phosphate battery packs. The engine has a maximum power of 82 kW (110 hp) and a peak torque of 136 Nm, and the electric motor outputs 160 kW and 262 Nm. Two battery capacities are offered: 8.5 kWh and 19.09 kWh, which correspond to a CLTC pure electric range of 55 km and 120 km.
Under a full fuel tank and full charge, the official comprehensive range can reach up to 1,420 km.
Other optional configurations include window trim, privacy glass, sunroof, luggage rack, front and rear radars, tailgate opening indicator, and front fender garnish.
