Xiaomi unveils Vision Gran Turismo design documentary, highlighting global collaboration
Xiaomi Auto today released a design documentary for its Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, offering an in-depth look into the journey behind the concept car. The film details the collaborative efforts of Xiaomi’s global design teams, spanning Beijing, Shanghai, and Munich, in crafting a vehicle described as “sculpted by wind.”
The documentary emphasizes the core design philosophy of the Xiaomi Vision GT: achieving a perfect equilibrium between aerodynamic drag and downforce. This pursuit of balance is central to the car’s futuristic aesthetic and performance aspirations. The concept car is currently on display at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), drawing significant attention from industry enthusiasts and the public alike.
The Vision Gran Turismo project, initiated by Kazunori Yamauchi, producer of the renowned Gran Turismo series, invites leading global automotive manufacturers to design ultimate dream concept cars. These designs are unconstrained by real-world technical or material limitations, allowing for boundless imagination regarding future driving experiences. Esteemed brands such as Bugatti, Ferrari, and Porsche have previously participated in this prestigious initiative.
Xiaomi is the 36th brand to join the Vision Gran Turismo project. It is not only the first Chinese brand to be invited but also the first technology company globally to participate.

Lu Weibing, Partner and President of Xiaomi Group and President of the Mobile Phone Department, stated that the concept car in Gran Turismo does not defy the laws of physics, theoretically, it is engineeringly feasible and complies with all aerodynamic principles.

However, Xiaomi officially confirmed that this Vision GT concept car will not go into mass production. Instead, it will be added to the “Gran Turismo” game, where players everywhere can experience it.
This January, Xiaomi officially announced that its flagship performance electric vehicle, the SU7 Ultra, became the first Chinese car to be featured in the racing simulation game Gran Turismo 7. The vehicle was available in-game starting January 29, 2026, at 14:00 Beijing time (6:00 UTC).
