New spy shots from the upcoming SouEast V5 sedan wearing very funky camouflage. The SouEast V5 will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April, it will be listed on the Chinese car market in Q3 and price is expected to range from 80.000 to 120.000 yuan.

The V5 is based on the Mitsubishi Lancer from the SouEast-Mitsubishi joint venture. The body is sorta different with a redesigned C-pillar, a new front and a new back. Basic design, platform and engines are all the same as with the Lancer.

A very interesting design there on the rear lights with a ‘floating’ line. Very nice. Power comes from a Mitsubishi 1.8 that delivers 144hp and 178nm in the V5, transmission is a 5-speed manual or a CVT. The V5 is the first car that is actually ‘designed’ by SouEast, their earlier offerings are really nothing more than rebadged old Mitsubishi’s.
