Top Chinese automaker SAIC Motor Corp reported a 67 percent surge in quarterly earnings on Thursday, citing solid demand for German and US cars made at its Shanghai ventures as well as a $4.4 billion asset purchase from its state parent.
From October to December, SAIC’s net profit came to 6.93 billion yuan, up from 4.15 billion a year earlier and slightly higher than a consensus forecast of 6.72 billion from 14 analysts polled by Thomson One.

The Audi S4 is powered by a 3.0 TFSI V6 that poops out 329hp and 440nm, good enough for some serious pinky speed.
New spy shots from the upcoming BYD-Daimler Denza EV. BYD-Daimler is a joint venture that will make electric cars for the Chinese market under the Denza brand-name. Their first car is based on the old Mercedes-Benz B-class. The name of the car itself is still unknown. The black car on the first picture is likely the same as we saw yesterday with an exposed interior.

The facelifted Toyota Land Cruiser has been officially listed & priced in China. Price starts at 765.000 yuan and ends at 1.16 million yuan, and that indeed is a lotta money for a locally produced farmers-favorite. The Land Cruiser is made in China by the FAW-Toyota joint venture.

The new Audi A6L has been officially listed & priced on the China car market. Price starts at 355.000 yuan and ends at 742.600 yuan. The A6L is stretched by 10 centimeters compared to the standard A6, it is made in China by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture.

The new Beijing Auto E-series is based on the platform of the Smart FourFour, a Smart with space for four that was made by NedCar in the Netherlands between 2004 and 2006. The Smart Forfour shared most of its components with the 2003 Mitsubishi Colt which was made at the same factory. The ForFour was killed after only two years due to very slow sales. Now we know where the platform went!
