Spy Shots: Chery Tiggo 5 seen testing in China

New spy shots showing the Chery Tiggo 5 testing in China. The Tiggo 5, formerly known as Chery T21, is the successor of the successful Chery Tiggo 3. The Chery Tiggo 5 was expected to debut on the Shanghai Auto Show in April but didn’t show, debut is now expected for the Chengdu Auto Show in September.

Engines:  132hp 2.0 and 126hp 1.6. Chery is also working on a 1.4 turbo and new small-displacement diesels for export. Price for the Tiggo 5 will start around 100.000 yuan. The cheapest version of the Chery Tiggo 3 will likely continue for another two year or so as a budget alternative, priced around 80.000 yuan.

Best shot of the dashboard so far. Sporty dials for sure, large screen in the center console, kinda weird looking handbrake, manual gearbox. Quality of the materials is definitely improving, even the black plastics look all right.
