Peugeot 301 will get a 1.2 turbo in China

The new Peugeot 301 will get a 1.2 liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, but only in 2014. The Peugeot 301 will be launched on the Chinese car market in the third quarter of this year, only available engine until 2014 will be a 1.6 with 114hp and 150nm. Earlier on we also heard rumors about a 1.6 turbo and a 1.8, but so far none has been confirmed.

The Peugeot 301 is basically the same car as the new Citroen C-Elysee that will be launched later this year as well. The 301 and C-Elysee are made in China by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture and will compete head-to-head with the new Volkswagen Jetta, the new Volkswagen Santana, the new Skoda Rapid and the upcoming Guangzhou Auto GA3. Price for the Peugeot 301 will range from 80.000 to 110.000 yuan.
